Attorney Feedback

Attorneys are already working faster.

★★★★★

"I reviewed a 32-page commercial lease in under 10 minutes. It flagged a liability cap issue I might have missed at 11pm. That alone was worth the cost."

SR
S. Reyes
Real Estate Attorney, Solo Practice
★★★★★

"The redlining tool doesn't just flag problems — it writes replacement language in the same style as the original. My clients think I'm operating at twice the speed."

MP
M. Patel
M&A Associate, 4-Person Firm
★★★★★

"The Playbooks feature is what sold me. I built my standard NDA checklist once and now I run it against any contract in seconds. Probably 8 hours a week recovered."

Common Questions

Everything attorneys ask before signing up.

Straightforward answers. No sales language.

Is it ethical to use Contractus under bar rules?
Yes. Supervised AI use is explicitly permitted under ABA Formal Opinion 512 (2023) and guidance from the California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Illinois bars. The key requirement is attorney supervision — you review all AI output before any client use. Contractus is built for exactly this workflow: it surfaces issues and drafts language, the attorney reviews, approves, and takes professional responsibility. We display this obligation throughout the product.
Does Contractus store my clients' documents?
No. Files are processed in memory and purged immediately after analysis. Client documents are never written to disk, stored in a database, or retained on our servers beyond the active analysis session. Your contract library stores only the contracts you explicitly choose to save — and only you can access them. We never use your documents to train AI models.
What AI model powers Contractus?
Contractus is powered by Claude by Anthropic — one of the leading enterprise AI models, purpose-built for accuracy, nuance, and handling complex professional documents. Anthropic's enterprise API contractually prohibits using your data to train future models. We chose Claude specifically because of its performance on long-form legal text and its institutional commitment to responsible AI development.
Who is responsible if the AI misses something?
You are — and Contractus is designed around that reality. The supervising attorney bears full professional responsibility for all work product, as they would with any associate or tool. Every result includes a clear disclaimer reminding you to review before client use. Think of Contractus as a highly capable first-pass reviewer: it catches what it catches, surfaces what it finds, and the attorney makes the final call on everything.
What contract types can Contractus draft?
Contractus includes 18 templates: NDA, Service Agreement, Employment Contract, Commercial Lease, Consulting Agreement, Settlement Agreement, Independent Contractor Agreement, LLC Operating Agreement, IP Assignment, Vendor MSA, Legal Retainer, Asset Purchase Agreement, Software License, Commercial Contract, Stock Purchase Agreement, Joint Venture Agreement, Loan Agreement, and Sublicense Agreement. Each draft applies jurisdiction-specific requirements automatically for CA, NY, TX, DE, FL, and IL.
Is the AI reliable enough for real client work?
Contractus is reliable as a review and drafting assistant — not as a replacement for attorney judgment. It consistently catches common risk patterns: one-sided liability caps, missing indemnification carve-outs, problematic IP assignment language, auto-renewal traps, and ambiguous termination clauses. Like any tool, it can miss nuanced issues or context-specific risks. The attorney's review is the safety net, and the product is designed to support that, not replace it.
Does Contractus work for all practice areas?
Contractus is optimized for transactional and contract work — the daily workflow of business, real estate, employment, corporate, and general practice attorneys. It performs best on commercial agreements, employment documents, real estate leases, and business formation documents. It is not designed for litigation research, case law analysis, or court filings — those require different tools with different underlying capabilities.
What document formats does Contractus accept?
Contractus accepts PDF, Word (.docx/.doc), and plain text files up to 25 MB. You can also paste contract text directly into any tool. For cloud storage, Contractus connects to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, and Clio — pull any document directly into a tool without downloading it first. All integrations are available on every paid plan.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
You get full access to all 11 tools for 14 days — no credit card required to start. The trial includes 200 AI analyses and a library of up to 20 contracts. At the end of 14 days, you choose a plan or your account pauses. Nothing is deleted: your contract library and settings are waiting when you upgrade. If you need more time, contact us — we extend trials for attorneys actively evaluating the product.
What counts as one AI analysis?
Each time you run an AI tool — Contract Review, Redline, Draft, Q&A, Key Terms, Explain Clause, Compare Versions, Explain, or Bulk Review — counts as one analysis. Uploading a file, viewing a saved contract, exporting a PDF, and using the Clause Library are always free. On the Firm plan, analyses are pooled across your entire team and scale with your seat count: the base includes 1,000/month, plus 300 per additional seat.
Can multiple attorneys share one account?
Yes — the Firm plan is built for teams. The base price ($800/month) includes 3 attorney seats with a shared contract library, shared AI analysis pool, and shared matter workspaces. Additional seats are $300/month each, up to 20 attorneys self-serve. Above 20, contact us for a custom arrangement. Each attorney has their own login, and the firm owner manages seats, invitations, and roles from the team dashboard.
Can I cancel anytime? What happens to my data?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no penalty. Cancel from your account dashboard with one click — your subscription ends at the current billing period and you keep access until then. Your contract library is yours: export everything in a single JSON file before cancelling. After the grace period, your data is deleted from our servers. We don't hold your work hostage, and we don't make cancellation hard.
